PROCUREMENT MANAGER
Description:
Full responsibility for establishing, integrating and overseeing all procurement activities in the project management process for the duration of the project.
Develops procurement strategies targeting maximum contribution to the overall operating requirement.
Must be able to exercise budgetary control of local purchase systems and deal effectively with suppliers.
Effectively manage Customs Clearance Agents, Government departments and local transport contractors as necessary to optimize the on-time delivery of materials.
Define procurement strategies on the basis of ‘Prioritization’ of materials and ensure their implementation.
Establish effective sourcing processes and controls all procurement potential opportunities, resources and activities to deliver optimum impact of cost-cutting potential.
Develop the procurement plan, target-costing to meet requirements relating to deadlines and quality.
Proactively define ‘Customer’ requirements and establish acceptable deadlines for the delivery of materials.
Analyze scope of supply, contract agreements, conduct risk analyses and implement negotiation recommendations.
Identify particular risks, opportunities and market forces during the project to avoid potential damage / exploitation to the company
Experience Required:
A minimum of 15 years experience with 10 years in the field of Materials and Services Procurement for construction contracts in a managerial position.
Previous on-site experience in a Middle Eastern country is highly desirable.
Proficiency in the MS Office suite (MS Word, MS Excel)
