QA Manager
Description:
Must be experienced in the development and implementation of project specific Quality Programs, through all project phases (design, procurement, construction and commissioning), which align with ISO9001-2000 requirements.
Will monitor and report on the implementation of the Quality Program through surveillance and formal audit activities.
The QA Manager will ensure that the facility provide is fit for the purpose which it is design for and meets both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.
The QA Manager coordinates the activities required to meet quality standards.
Advise on the performance of the quality management system and produce data and report on performance, measuring against set indicators.
Liaise with other managers and staff throughout the project team to ensure that the QA system is functioning properly.
Where appropriate, advise on changes and their implementation and provides training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.
Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organisation
Setting QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved;
Maintaining awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues;
Assessing the product specifications of the company and its suppliers, and comparing with customer requirements;
Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation;
Consider the application of environmental and health and safety standards;
Agreeing standards and establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply;
Defining quality procedures in conjunction with project staff;
Set-up and maintain controls and documentation procedures;
Identify relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training where required
Collate and analyse performance data and charts against defined parameters;
Ensure tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that modifications are investigated if necessary;
Supervise technical staff in carrying out tests and checks;
Write technical and management systems reports;
Bring together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures;
Persuade reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality methods;
Liaising with ‘customers' auditors and ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications
Prepare clear explanatory documents
Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
Experience Required:
Must be suitably qualified with a minimum of 20 years experience, with 10 years in the role of Quality Assurance Management for large civil engineering and building construction projects.
