COURSE DESCRIPTION

This Course can be tailored according to specific Client needs. It provides an introduction to formalised training methods, techniques and tools, to aspiring or newly appointed trainers and it  can be expanded to deliver a formal internationally accredited and recognised Train-the-Trainer qualification

The Course will examine modern techniques and methods of training delivery and ‘Best Practises.’  It is conducted in an open and highly interactive environment, with participant involvement in Case Study group activities. Generic HSE principles are embedded into the Training Course.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The ability and the competence of Operators and Maintenance employees to be able to safely operate and maintain an Oil, Gas or Petrochemical Facility is essential to ensuring optimum production, minimum downtime and reducing HSE incidents and accidents.  Well planned, prepared and quality delivery of training is crucial to effective learning & skills development.

COURSE OUTLINE

Understanding the Principles & Practices of Effective Training Delivery:

  • A systematic approach to training
  • Identifying learning needs
  • How we learn – ‘Learning Styles’
  • Use of ‘open questions’ in training to develop learners knowledge and understanding

Prepare learner objectives, session plans and learner support materials to meet learner requirements:

  • 3 – phase session/delivery plans
  • Writing SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound objectives)
  • Group dynamics and training techniques
  • How to use materials to support training
  • Deliver planned interactive training sessions & assess trainee progress:
  • Effectively introduce training session
  • Use of visual aids & training materials
  • Effectively engaging with learners
  • Managing control & participation
  • Correct use of feedback to determine learner’s understanding

Evaluate effectiveness of training delivery & trainee understanding:

  • Evaluation of training
  • Levels of training effectiveness
  • Transfer of learning to the workplace
  • Evaluate personal performance in training delivery
